In today’s labor market, employees currently have the upper hand. Those who are ambitious and want to find work/life balance and a sense of self-satisfaction, achievement, or purpose within their job are often looking beyond their current employer.

How can you keep your valuable contributors happy, fulfilled, and wanting to stay with your company?

Ping pong tables, unlimited snacks, and sodas are no longer the draw. They may be nice to have but are not a reason for an employee to stay.

Unlimited vacation time sounds incredible, but taking too much vacation feels awkward.

How many vacation days is too many, or not enough?

How many departments know how they contribute to the company's financial well-being and success?

Has anyone been told how their positive efforts can directly contribute to a company's bottom line?

When employees are aware that their efforts REALLY do matter, they feel more connected to their company’s success. Additionally, If their manager acknowledges them, the results are even more impactful.

Create clarity for every employee, so they understand that their effort matters.

Document the achievements and contributions of each employee every month.  This will improve morale and take the mystery out of the annual review because you will have all that positive monthly history as a reference.
